The Czech Republic supports the maintenance of national digital television broadcasting in the 600 MHz band even after 2030. The information presented at the Innovation Days conference by the CEO of Czech Radiocommunication, Miloš Mastník, was confirmed by the Ministry of Industry when asked by Digizone. Czechoslovakia.

The use of the 600MHz band after 2030 will be discussed at the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) next year. Mobile operators are pushing for frequencies to be released in favor of developing high-speed data networks. On the other hand, European countries mostly prefer to maintain globally available TV broadcasts.

“From the point of view of the issue of the band 470-694 MHz, there is agreement and support for maintaining digital terrestrial television broadcasting even after 2030 (no changes are expected until 2030). This situation can be improved with regard to additional technological developments and the situation, especially in neighboring countries, Or the EU in general, where it is assumed that by the end of the decade a coordinated solution can finally be enshrined in EU-wide legislation,” Marek Voshalek, head of the press department at the Ministry of Industry, told editors.

He added: “The current position of the Czech Republic can be summed up in the phrase ‘no change.’ In other words, don’t change anything about the use of the scope.
