Butler-Oyedeji joins Accrington Stanley on loan | News

Cedric Soares has joined Fulham on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season.

The 31-year-old defender, who has made 59 appearances for us in all competitions since joining Southampton, is an experienced international with 34 caps for Portugal, and was part of the country’s Euro 2016 squad.

Cedric initially signed for us on loan from Southampton in January 2020, with the move made permanent that summer. During five seasons on the south coast, the Portugal international established himself as a key member of the Saints backline, usually starting at right-back.

He usually concentrates on the latter half of the season, playing in each of our last 17 Premier League matches. On the final day of last season, he scored from a corner in a 5-1 home win over Verton.

Cup tied for our FA Cup win in 2020, Cedric helped us win the FA Community Shield against Liverpool in August 2020, in which he scored the third penalty of the match in our 5-4 victory.

Everyone at the Arsenal wishes Cedric all the best in his time with Fulham.

The loan is subject to completion of the regulatory process.
