Erik ten Hag sets new domestic cups record as Man United manager

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recorded three consecutive victories, over Reading (again!) of Arsenal and Chelsea in the 2018/19 FA Cup, only to be kicked out by Wolves, following a 2-1 defeat at Molineux.

David Moyes started the League Cup well with the Reds, eliminating Liverpool, Norwich City and Stoke City, but his team fell at the first hurdle in the FA Cup with a 2-1 scoreline against Swansea City in early 2014.

Sir Alex Ferguson led City’s neighbors to the FA Cup third round in 1987, with Whiteside’s goal against Norman, but his team were later kicked out by Coventry City on January 1st.

Louis van Gaal (Milton Keynes Dons), Ron Atkinson (Tottenham), Dave Sexton (Arsenal) and Tommy Docherty (Wolves) all lost their helmsmanship ties before the first domestic cup.
