The British captain started alongside Victor Lindelof at the heart of our defense when we first faced Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on January 10.
Since then, the competition for the center back position has been fierce with Lindelof, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Lucas Shaw and Casemiro, all playing there on various occasions, after the restart of the 2022 World Cup season.
Maguire played the full 90 minutes against the Royals on Saturday and, conceding a late goal, he looked scouted and tactical from the Victor side, keeping attackers Andy Carroll and Lucas Joao at bay.
Following the match, Maguire issued praise for his centre-backs and says he will defend the competition locally in the United States.
