McTominay was on the bench against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg, but did not make an appearance. His last start came against Arsenal in a 3-2 loss at the Emirates Stadium last Sunday.
Like Shaw, he also started in the defeat to the Gunners last weekend, but was missing from the squad that traveled to the City Ground on Wednesday night.
