January signing Sabrina D’Angelo made the perfect start to her Arsenal career on Thursday night, keeping a clean sheet in our dominant 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.
The Canadian international only joined us on January 13th, but before he had saved the ball or kicked the first kick, our supporters were singing his name in the “Tequila” song.
We spoke to D’Angelo after the game and this is what she said;
Keeping a clean sheet and making her debut…
I’m very grateful to be one of them and obviously getting to admire and win and shout. It was a great team effort and there were some really nice goals, so a happy day!
The quality of teammates…
I mean, Frida’s proposals were top class and then Caitlin just signed. Such were the aims of the war, it was terrible.
How did it feel to represent the Navy for the first time…
Oh gosh, after the warm-up and as I went in to get changed I was getting a little emotional because they announced my name and the fans were cheering. I am so happy to be here and contribute in any way I can. Obviously getting my debut off to a good start, so a little emotional.
On fans singing his name to the song “tequila” …
So I heard a little song behind me and I couldn’t help it in my face, so I laughed of course!
Which means having a song before it debuts…
I mean, I loved it! The support was amazing and it helps a lot when it comes to fans.
What he brings to this team…
I think my communication is one of my strong suits and my anchor in the game. I am happy that I am able to contribute to the team.
