Highlights | Arsenal Women 3-0 Aston Villa | Video | News

We achieved our first victory in 2023 and booked our place in the semi-finals of the Conte Cup on Thursday night, as we beat Aston Villa 3-0.

Frida gave Maan a special performance and scored twice in the night, when the three January signs were drawn up to pay their bills for their debts.

What has happened?

Despite four changes to the side that held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium, Jonas Eidevall’s side made a quick start and scored an early try for Anne Hampton.

Lina Hurtig’s effort was deflected and Maan’s effort was wide of the post, before the Norway international opened the scoring in a fashion show.

Collecting the ball from the throw and pushing inside, Maanum darted his way into the penalty area with some fine footwork and fired back across the goal into the bottom left corner.

Kim Little doubled our chance with a powerful strike inside the box, but Hampton was equal to it and we went for a break at one end.

Following the restart, it took just five minutes for Maanun to get his arm, firing the ball into the top right corner after some heavy defensive work from Forord to regain possession.

The Australia international was in top form on the night and turned away from provider on the hour mark, breaking free down the left wing to link up with Maan and coolly finish into the bottom corner.

There was one last moment to celebrate a little later too, as Kathrine Kuhl and Victoria Pelova were introduced on the bench and duly impressed in the third third.
